About

I am a final-year PhD candidate at the Institute of Soil Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), specializing in the aerobic microbial biotransformation of emerging environmental contaminants. My dissertation, “Mechanistic Insights into the Aerobic Microbial Biotransformation of 6:2 Fluorotelomer Sulfonate (6:2 FTS) and Co-Contaminant TCE,” focuses on microbial transformation pathways, degradation mechanisms, and adaptive responses involved in PFAS precursor and chlorinated contaminant remediation. By integrating microbial cultivation, advanced mass spectrometry, metatranscriptomics, molecular biology, and functional gene validation, I investigate biochemical mechanisms underlying contaminant transformation and develop microbial-based remediation strategies. Before my PhD, I gained over ten years of industrial research experience in soil microbiology and agricultural biotechnology, including industrial microbial production, bioreactor systems, crop protection, microbial fertilizer and biopesticide development, and field applications. This combined expertise in applied biotechnology and environmental microbiology provides a strong foundation for advancing innovative solutions for emerging contaminant remediation, sustainable wastewater treatment, and environmental biotechnology.
